I am a teacher. There is a child in my class [9 years old] who is quite good with his studies, but cannot sit in one place, not even a while, and is too talkative.

Challenges facing:

  • Cannot sit in his place not even couple of minutes. He will keep on wandering to his friends and all over the class.
  • Cannot sit properly in chair. Always in a sliding pose.
  • Sensitive to touch.
  • Trouble staying on a task.

Chosen tools from the [Brain and Sensory Foundations] course:

  • Heart connection practice as he was sensitive to touch. During circle time, he and the other boys were talking to each other and not following the classroom rules. I started connection with his heart, and slowly he began to listen to me and do what I say more often. This was during class, too.
  • I did rhythmic movements and hook-ups with him in class. [From the Brain and Sensory Foundations course.] Due to my time constraint as a teacher in school, I could not do all the activities.
  • He was also getting some reflex integration activities [From the Brain and Sensory Foundations course] from the occupational therapist.

With in a few weeks of practicing passive movements from me and integration activities form therapist, I noticed a positive change in his classroom attitude. He was able to accept instruction and explained why he was doing things rather than ignoring me.

By the end of the year, I found him as a completely different child.

  • He was sitting in his place most of the time.
  • Became regular with classwork.
  • Able to stay on classroom activities for quite a long time
