Help for Trauma/Fear

Greetings ,

With raging fires here on the west coast of the United States, many have been engulfed in trauma and fear. Here is a letter from Joy Cruz, a student who had to evacuate her home and flee to safety with her family:

"Our town was almost swallowed up in flames. We had to suddenly flee as the sky turned dark as night with the red glow of flames. We got to the safety of my sister's house in another town, only to find out we were at the bottom of another mountain that was on fire. Fortunately that fire was contained and we didn’t have to move again. One of the nights we were evacuated, we knew our house would be gone by morning. But our little town [Molalla, Oregon] was miraculously saved!!

This month, I’ve had more first-hand experience with seeing stress response reflexes emerge and integrate. It’s been so hard and so fascinating!

After evacuating and a few days of numbness (FPR response), I figured out how to separate real threat from perceived threat. My body was reacting to both the same. Then I noticed I started jumping at everything and anxiety set in. I did one reflex integration session for myself that first week, which helped me tremendously. My 3 school-aged children played with their cousins. They played and played and played. Lots of hiding and chasing games. They didn’t show ANY signs of stress!! I understand the power of play in a new way now! My 2-year-old played too, but I also noticed that she needed to be rocked to sleep in a different way ... arms crossed and hugged tight in the fetal position. She’s needed more rhythmical movements. I’m craving movements these days too. I’ve had great conversations with my older 3 children about reflexes and trauma. They have been doing movements. I’m confident that with the integrative tools I learned from your classes, we will be totally recovered neurologically soon. Giving seeds of hope for anyone going through trauma, or for people to remember if trauma strikes . . ."

Joy--like so many students of these tools--is finding that the innate rhythmic movements and reflexes are helping her and her family resolve the trauma.

Thank you Joy and everyone for your stories!

If you already know these tools, remember to use them! If not, enrolling in the Brain and Sensory Foundations course can be of tremendous help for releasing anxiety and boosting our ability to function.

Warm wishes,

Sonia

“The [Brain and Sensory Foundations} course was an incredible opportunity for us. Our life changed after starting some of the techniques you teach at your course. Our son started sleeping all night after 12 years, he started eating more only a few days after we started doing the exercises, which was amazing. Brain and Sensory Foundations was the beginning of an incredible journey for our family.”
