OT Transforms Clients’ Reading, Handwriting, and More

Veteran occupational therapist Lynda Steed shares how the reflex integration activities and innate rhythmic movements from the Brain and Sensory Foundations course have greatly improved handwriting, motor planning, coordination, and self-regulation in many of her clients. She describes a particular boy in 2nd grade who started the school year unable to read, and exhibited difficulties with both writing and attention. Steed provided just five minutes of rhythmic movements twice per day, and within three weeks his reading fluency had increased from 22 words per minute to 82 words per minute!
